I'm sorry to announce that I will no longer be teaching Speech. I will focus entirely on ESL from now on. If you want to learn a little bit about making presentations, play my PRESENTATION JEOPARDY GAME here:
http://jeopardylabs.com/play/presentation-jeopardy5 The winter term begins on November 30. I will teach ESL 1 in the morning and ESL 2 at night. It was a great class and we had a good six weeks. Please keep up the practice and keep in touch.
The new semester begins on August 31. I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. I've been pretty busy these past three semesters. Teaching ESL as well as Speech and working in the Academic Study Center has not left a lot of time for maintaining my website. Well summer's almost here now; and I can do all the things I've been putting off.
Besides updating my website, here are a few things I want to accomplish this summer:
Things have changed a lot for me at work. Instead of teaching Adult Basic Ed. in the mornings, I am now teaching ESL 1 and 2 at night. That is a BIG change. I still have my Speech class on Wednesday mornings as well as the Academic Study Center on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I will make some changes to this website soon. I am thankful to still be teaching. I have been out of the routine for so long, I barely remember what to do. I hope I have lots of students on Tuesday, September 16 so that we can have a class.
It's been an eventful summer:
I can't wait to get back to work! Well, one more semester is done, and another will begin in two weeks (I hope). I like having a break between semesters, but I fear that students will make other plans, and then I won't have enough students to keep the class open.
I'm going to try not to worry about it. I really encourage all my students to come to class on Tuesday, March 25. It may be our last chance to save the ABE class. I hope I have at least sixteen students.
Next week I will go back to work. I must say, it will be good to get back to a regular routine. As usual, I encourage students to come the first week so that we will have enough students in class to keep it going.
Happy new year to everyone! That was the longest summer vacation I've ever had. The new schedule is very short, only ten weeks. That means we have to "hit the ground running" (Victoria bucks to anyone who asks me about this phrase in class) when class starts on Tuesday, September 17.
