howjsay.com - This is a free online Talking Dictionary of (British) English Pronunciation.
inogolo.com - I found this website while looking for US states, but there are lots of interesting pronunciation guides. And you can look up a specific name or word also. I finally know how to pronounce "Berkeley Breathed."
Internet Public Library - This is information you can trust.
Los Angeles Public Library - These libraries are all in the CITY of Los Angeles. The Central Library is the biggest one.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary - You can cut and paste any word into their search bar and learn more about it, including pronunciation.
Pandora - Listen to the music you like.
Fotobabble - If you want to practice speaking online, Fotobabble is an excellent website. Many English learners complain that they don’t know what to talk about. Talking about your family, friends, country and hobbies is a good start. At Fotobabble you can upload a photo and then record your description of it. Then you can share it with your teacher, friends, and family. It is up to you whether or not to keep your photo and recording private. You can upload it to the Fotobabble gallery so that all users can see it. The gallery is a great place to practice your listening skills and learn new vocabulary. Listen to other people babble about their favorite photos.
Quizlet - Here is a great way to practice on your own. You can use the sets that others have created or you can create your own sets of words. To find My sets, search missvic46.
Susan Coulter's website - She is a very generous colleague who has a great website to share. It's more focused on Adult Basic Ed.
Voice of America - Here is a great site for listening and reading about US and world news. All the stories have audio. Some of them have video.
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. You can see other people's wordles and create your own at this site. Check out my wordle on my home page. Apparently, it doesn't work on Chrome, so use Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari on Mac.
Here are a few websites that use video.

real-english.com - This is a great source for "real life" communication. The videos are varied and interesting. There are lots of interactive activities as well.
realesl.com - Don't confuse this one with real-english.com. The teacher, Kim takes her short lesson outside and she does not avoid any "adult" topics.
